Among the events on at Newquay Zoo are, from 21 March to 12 April 2008, an Easter Egg Trail ; 26 April to 31 October, ‘Eye-Spy’ Animal Secret Agent Trail; 4-10 May, Green Finger Week and Compost Awareness Week; 10-11 May, a Native Wildlife Weekend finding out about native British wildlife as part of National Hedgehog Awareness Week; 28 May, Spy Night ‘Licensed To Conserve’ evening, celebrating the Ian Fleming centenary with bush craft, survival skills, fancy dress, a meeting with James Pond, and a spotlight on the world’s amphibians; 31 May to 1 June, World Environment Event; 21 June, Medieval Midsummer Knight themed banquet, with juggling and fancy dress; 25 June, Ugly Bug Night, highlighting National Insect Week with an Ugly Bug Tour, stories and animal encounters; 5 July to 31 October, a Piratical Trail in search of treasure; 26 July, a Wild Breakfast, helping to prepare breakfast for the animals; and August’s Madagascan Nights, with animal encounters, talks, games and a barbecue (see the website for details).
