During spring 2008, the National Seal Sanctuary looked for true stories from salty sea dogs, with a £150 prize for the best. Eye-witness testimony or other form of proof to back up the story was required to enter, with the winner going before a panel judging the tales beside those forwarded by nine Sealife family attractions across Britain, for a national pot of £500. Free Sealife Sanctuary Cornwall tickets were available too for up to a dozen runners-up.
