In September 2007, Twycross Zoo received a grant of £3 million from the East Midlands Development Agency for a new £11 million visitor centre, which will transform the main entrance to Twycross Zoo and feature an eco-friendly gift shop, cafeteria and information centre. The plans include a new enclosure for snow leopards and a large aviary, due in mid-2010, while the elephant enclosure works are completed in summer 2008.
